Eligibility Criteria & Requirements

Candidates must fulfill the following eligibility conditions to be considered for selection:

For IMA, NDA & CME Candidates (Degree Holders)

• Age Limit: Candidates must be 26 years and below as of 1st July 2025.
• Marital Status: Must be unmarried at the time of application.
• Height Requirement: Minimum 5 feet 6 inches (167.64 cm).

Educational Qualification:

Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in one of the following fields from a university recognized by RUB/MOE & SD/BAC:

• Civil Engineering
• B.Sc IT / B.Sc Computer Science
• BE (IT)
• Electronics & Communication Engineering

Additional Requirements:

• Must have secured a minimum of 60% aggregate marks in their Bachelor's degree.
• Candidates with IT/Software Engineering degrees must have completed a minimum 4-year full-time on-campus degree program. Distance education or online degrees will not be accepted.
• Must have studied Pure Science in Class XII and obtained:
• Minimum 60% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
• At least 60% in each individual subject (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics).
• Minimum 55% in English.

For NDA & TES Entry (Class XII Level Candidates)

• Age Limit: Must be 20 years and below as of 23rd June 2025.
• Marital Status: Must be unmarried at the time of application.
• Height Requirement: Minimum 5 feet 5 inches (165.1 cm).

Educational Qualification:

• Must have completed Class XII (Science Stream) from a school recognized by RUB/MOE or affiliated with BCSEA.
• Must have secured:
• Minimum 60% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology.
• At least 60% in each of these subjects individually.
• Minimum 55% in English.

Candidates who fail to meet these requirements will not be considered for selection.

Selection Process

The selection process for the Royal Bhutan Army consists of multiple stages to assess candidates' physical fitness, medical health, academic performance, and overall aptitude.

Step 1: Application Submission

• Eligible candidates must obtain an Application/Registration form from the Officer's Institute, Lungtenphu.
• Forms will be available from 14th to 18th April 2025 between 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
• Each application form costs Nu. 100 (One Hundred).

Step 2: Preliminary Selection Tests

All candidates must undergo the following assessment procedures:

1. Written Preliminary Medical Examination – A basic health assessment to ensure physical fitness.
2. Psychometric (Aptitude) Test – To evaluate problem-solving skills and logical reasoning.
3. Written Test – Subject-based exams to assess academic knowledge.
4. Viva (Interview) – A formal interview to assess communication skills and personality.
5. Performance Evaluation – Based on Class X, XII, or Bachelor's Degree results.
